PINKMOTHER is a creative/choreographic project which creates dance for live performance as well as for camera. The project is directed by Sarah Sandoval, a native Californian and New York transplant. Her work has been shown at The Garage (San Francisco), The Roxie Theater (San Francisco) and Otion Front Studio (New York). Sarah graduated with a BA in Dance with a Certificate of Outstanding Performance and Choreography from San Francisco State University. She has performed in Boulder, Brazil, New York and San Francisco for choreographers such as Julie Mayo, The Anata Project and Catherine Galasso in conjunction with Andy DeGroat for their Bessie nominated get dancing. Her performance work includes ODC’s Sandbox series with Laura Arrington as well as music videos directed by Mimi Cave for musicians Tune Yards and Jim James.

Sarah's own work weaves visceral imagery into multi-disciplinary choreography. Created through exercises in emotional, mental, meditative and physical states, she expands on the American body by challenging normative choreographic structures. Simultaneously, she highlights a relatable through-line using archetypal themes with a primal sensibility. Sarah seeks to express the beauty, fervor, and angst of often marginalized groups and sub-cultures in the spirit of the underground ethos.
